Location
This is a wonderful
restaurant on the magnificent grounds of the former Ticho residence. The
restaurant is on Harav Kook street, a small street just off Hanivi'im street.
This is a secluded area not far from the center of downtown Jerusalem. Click here to view a map
of the area. As you walk down
Harav Kook street toward the restaurant you will pass Rav Kook's former home.
This too is now a museum, and makes an interesting place to visit.
About us...
The Ticho house,
the site of this restaurant, was originally built in the second half of the
19th century by an Arab dignitary. This magnificent home was last occupied
by Dr Albert Ticho and his artist wife Anna, who bequeathed the house and
all of its collections to the people of Jerusalem as a public center for
art. The collections are on view every day from 10:00am till 5:00pm, and
till 10:00pm on Tuesday. Friday the exhibit closes at 2:00pm. The restaurant management
came to this establishment after managing the King David Hotel and other
well known hotels. This experience is evident in this well run restaurant.
Seating
The Little Jerusalem
restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating year-round. The outdoor seating
in the garden will give you an opportunity to enjoy the clear Jerusalem air. This is an especially
nice place to visit on Succot. There is plenty of room in either of the two
succot put up on the spacious grounds.
Menu
Little Jerusalem
offers a great selection of dairy meals. Choose from the special breakfast
menu served from 10am till noon. Prices are in the mid NIS 30. Soups are
NIS 20-25. Salads range from NIS 30 to 42. There are so many other menu items
it is hard to list them all. See the full menu at http://www.go-out.com/ticho/menu.html The menu categories
are sauteed options, platters, omelets, baked potatoes with a variety of
sauces, sandwiches, home dishes, fish, pastas with a choice of sauces, all
at very reasonable prices. Especially when you consider the delightful environment
that you will be eating in, and the lovely food presentation. Very civilized
indeed!
Groups
This restaurant
caters events for large parties and groups. They set a beautiful buffet.
We attended a party for 30 people at this restaurant. The food was delicious,
the service excellent, and the presentation was perfect.
