Submitted by: David Resnick, Date: 2 April 2000. Description: Last week we went to Shauly and Guy's in Eilat - it seems to be very well known there. It is owned by 2 brothers and their father is the cashier. It is located in the Eilat "industrial section" - but nothing is very far from anything else there. The restaurant is open until 11 at night. They start with about 8-10 salads which the waitress automatically puts on the table with hot bread and garlic pita. They charge each person for this - so if you don't want it, tell them right away. If it is a small party, it is worth it; for a large group it may not be.

The food is good, plentiful and fleischig. We ordered chicken, which was fresh, soup was good. Kids got hot dogs on skewers (2 each - very sufficinet). It is under the hashgacha of the Rav of Eilat, but all meat is mehadrin and vegetables gush katif. The chef is a frum fellow from Argentina. Dessert was also everything on the menu with one price for each person - ice cream, cake, fruit, etc.

For 8 people, including 1 baby ,the bill was 399 NIS. A worthwhile experience.

Its really a great, great restaurant. According to the Chief Rabbi of Eilat, its 100% o.k. to eat there if you are looking for Mehadrin. The food is great, well worth the money. The service is great and we really had a blast each time we ate there. Thanks for the recommendastion, also the 10% coupons worked. And have a Happy Healthy and Sweet New Year.
