Lunch
for Handasa Kravit, The Twins Restaurant, Moshav Shechenya (Galil).
October 2003 |
| |
This
group of 75 soldiers from the Dolev engineering combat company,
a unit of the Mahatz Engineering Battalion, enjoyed a late lunch
at the Twins restaurant in the Misgav region of the Galilee. This
group had just completed a milestone in their service including
long months of activity in Nablus and Hebron and were being posted
to Mount Hermon and the Lebanese border. They used this opportunity
of a nice restaurant to give out awards to the soldiers. Their job
is demolition; dealing with explosives and with heavy equipment
like the D9 bulldozers. They are involved in demolishing homes of
terrorists and in apprehending wanted suspects.

Dinner
for Handasa Kravit,
Makom B'Sejera, Ilaniya (Galil). October
2003 |
| |
This
group of 90 soldiers from the Eshed engineering combat company,
also a unit of the Mahatz Engineering Battalion, were treated to
a delicious dinner at this lovely restaurant in the Galilee. Like
the Dolev soldiers, they had spent long months of activity in Nablus,
Hebron and Mt. Hermon. We helped them celebrate the completion of
these milestones in their service with a dinner at this lovely restaurant
before being posted to Mount Hermon and the Lebanese border. They
showed a film about their unit and gave out awards.
The job of these soldiers is similar to that of the Dolev soldiers:
demolition, dealing with explosives and with heavy equipment like
the D9 bulldozers. They too are involved in demolishing homes of
terrorists and in apprehending wanted suspects.

Dinner
for Egoz Special Forces, Corus Al Ha'esh, Jerusalem. November
2003 |
| |
One
company of the Egoz Battalion thoroughly enjoyed an excellent dinner
at Corus Al Ha'esh in Jerusalem. Egoz is the special forces battalion
of Golani. They are a reconnaissance and intelligence unit and they
do particularly daring operations. Just recently they were responsible
for uncovering a highly sophisticated arena of bomb-traps placed
by the Hizballah and designed to hurt and kidnap soldiers. Egoz
uncovered the bombs and Mahatz dismantled them. Thank God nobody
was hurt.
