Handasa Kravit, October 2003

Lunch at The Twins restaurant and dinner at Makom B'Sejera for two groups from the Mahatz Engineering Battalion of Handasa Kravit.

Handasa Kravit Soldiers, On the Go

A group of 75 soldiers from the Dolev engineering combat company, a unit of the Mahatz Engineering Battalion, enjoyed a late lunch at The Twins restaurant in the Misgav region of the Galilee. Their job is demolition; dealing with explosives and with heavy equipment like the D9 bulldozers. They are involved in demolishing homes of terrorists and in apprehending wanted suspects. This group had just completed a milestone in their service including long months of activity in Nablus and Hebron and were being posted to Mount Hermon and the Lebanese border. They had a late lunch at this restaurant where they gave out awards to outstanding soldiers.

A group of 90 soldiers from the Eshed engineering combat company, also a unit of the Mahatz Engineering Battalion, were treated to a delicious dinner at the lovely restaurant Makom B'Sejera in the Galilee. The job of these soldiers is similar to that of the Dolev soldiers: demolition, dealing with explosives and with heavy equipment like the D9 bulldozers. They too are involved in demolishing homes of terrorists and in apprehending wanted suspects.

Dinner at the Twins Restaurant

Like the Dolev soldiers, they had spent long months of activity in Nablus, Hebron and Mt. Hermon. We helped them celebrate the completion of these milestones in their service with a dinner at this restaurant before being posted to Mount Hermon and the Lebanese border. The dinner gave them an opportunity to show a film about their unit and to give out awards.

Funds for this program were raised by Shaarai Tefila Synagogue of North Miami Beach and "The Meal Appeal" in Manchester England.
