Update: Nov 07. From three Belinda enthusiasts:
Belinda is a great place to eat.  Needless to say, we go there often.  We have eaten in restaurants all over the world.  Would that we had our own private plane so that we could fly all over the world to our favorite places!  Well, add Belinda to the top of that list. Belinda is officially our fave dairy restaurant in the whole wide world! The food there is fresh, portions are huge, and the prices are moderate.   Service is quite good also. The wait staff speaks English and they are attentive to your needs throughout your meal.

Belinda is exactly where it should be: in the middle of the Wolfson Complex (free parking), amidst the hubbub of the residents and in the Canyonit. Belinda is a cute café that begs you to come in a try their delicious foods.

girlfriendsBelinda is the place for an intimate lunch for two, or a quick bite while on the way to Mister Zol next door. The casual intimate restaurant provides a warm atmosphere for friends gathering and the sensation that owner Linda wants you to feel — right at home.

The food at Belinda is not only scrumptious but it is also healthy. There are no additives and salt is limited in all of the dishes. Belinda accommodates the special diets of elderly customers as well. Belinda’s clientele is overwhelmingly English speaking, and the staff also speaks English very well.

soupThe potpourri of menu items really gets the taste buds going. We tried all of Belinda’s soups, but it was the Lentil that really struck us. You won’t find this anywhere else. In addition to the soups, a heavenly breakfast is served all day.

There are four main menu items worth noting that any visitors to Belinda absolutely must try: The first is the Dragon Bowl, where Asian-infusion meets French café. This brown rice and vegetables dish leaves every customer wanting more. The mixture of tofu, onions, carrots, peppers and bean sprouts, tossed in a soy and ginger sauce is not only tasty, but also nutritious. And if that is not enough protein, this is served with fresh techina sauce!

The second is the Kegeree, something we had never tasted before. This flavors of the Salmon Kegeree are subtle and special. The mildly curried rice, mixed with fresh and smoked salmon, parsley, scallions and hard-boiled egg, is a delectable concoction, reminiscent of Jewish Home meets Scottish.

The third is the Kasha Burgers and Salmon cakes. The names speak for themselves—fresh, homemade alternatives to red meat for the vegetarians among us. The Salmon cakes were mixed with potato, creating a very unique taste. And the Kasha burgers had a special ingredient of pumpkin seeds, making this dish quite rich and at the same time leaving you wanting more and more.

The fourth and final entrée that you absolutely must try is the sweet-potato and mozzarella quiche. My dining companions had never tasted anything like this, and we would all argue it is one of the most delicious things that Belinda offers.

And speaking of delicious – if you have room for dessert, we highly recommend the Lemon Meringue…its light and airiness gives you the sweetness you desire, even if you only have a drop of room left after this meal fit for royalty.

From Our Readers:

Submitted: November 07. Descrption: Located in the mall at the Wolfson Tower, this mehadrin dairy restaurant is a welcome oasis of quiet, good people watching, and superior food.  The menu at Belinda consists of just about any kind of dairy food you might want to eat.  And although Belinda is located in a small mall, you won’t feel as if you are seated in the food court of some large place.  Somehow Belinda manages to create a space that feels quiet and intimate.

We have been to Belinda many times, and we have never been disappointed.  The food is always fresh, tasty and well prepared. We have gone for breakfast and enjoyed the two eggs anyway you want them special. The eggs come with toast, chopped veggies and cheese.  Butter and jelly round it all out along with juice and either coffee or tea. We asked for scrambled eggs and got eggs that were prepared light and fluffy.

We have enjoyed lunch at Belinda, too. We love the Greek salad and the health salad.  Recently we tried the salad of the day which was incredible.  We were served a huge portion of Israeli salad mixed with Quinoa- what a sensational salad!  Add to that the hot, fresh, zatar covered foccacia that we were served with it, and it was quite a meal!

The Dragon Bowl is a great choice, too. Featuring a bowl of brown rice topped with tofu sautéed in a wok, with onions, carrots, peppers and bean sprouts all tossed in soy sauce and ginger, this huge portion is a taste bud delight!

We have had the various ciabbata sandwiches, and they, too, have always been fresh and quite tasty. Our two favorites are the fried egg sandwich served with soft cheese, lettuce, tomato and cucumber, and the Bulgarian Cheese  made with pesto, roasted pepper and eggplant and lettuce and tomato.

Pasta at Belinda is a special treat.  We love the fettuccini alfredo.  The fettuccini with salsa rosa is also spectacular.

Baked dishes at Belinda are unique creations of their own!  We tried the sweet potato and mozzarella quiche and it was to die for!

Other dishes are on our “next time” list.  We want to try Belinda’s famous kasha burgers.  We have seen people eating them and when we asked them how it was, they seemed mostly to lack enough adjectives to describe them!  We also want to try the Vegetable Plate Pie- a whole wheat pie filled with carrots, spinach, mushrooms, zucchini and onions.  Finally, one of these days, we must try the Bruscetta- four slices of toasted garlic bread with your choice of topping.  We would go for the fresh, sautéed mushrooms and cherry tomatoes.  But there are other choices as well.

Desserts at Belinda are, of course, excellent.  What kind of a dairy restaurant would they be if they didn’t have superior desserts?  All of the desserts are made on the premises.  All of them are killers!!  We have had the buckwheat cookies which were to die for.  Redolent of halvah, those little babies were so good we ate a plateful in seconds!  The brownies are taam gan eden!  The chocolate mousse cake should be called death by chocolate!  In the old days, we would have gone and just ordered plates and plates of desserts.  Sigh!

All in all, we love Belinda, and we think you will, too.  Try it out!
