September 2009
Korus Dairy Café, in the heart of the Center One shopping center, will surprise you with its extensive and recently improved menu and delicious food. Korus Café is a family-friendly restaurant and my wife and I found the food both tasty and very nicely presented. Korus Dairy Cafe is not just a place to eat when you need a break from shopping. It is a dining experience in itself. Rather than the mall bringing the traffic to the restaurant, this restaurant brings the visitors to Center One.

Unable to make a decision between all the tasty options on the menu I asked the waitress to help us with some recommendations. All of the waiting staff are very helpful and professional and have extensive knowledge of the new menu. I started with the eggplant Ballade, my wife had the Caesar salad and we shared the anti-pasta platter. We were very impressed with the care taken in the presentation of the food. Even the shapes of the plates were surprising and interesting. The eggplant ballade came in a crescent shaped plate that fit the shape of the roasted eggplant, covered in tahina. The cooked vegetables in the anti pasta platter were fresh and delicious. My wife said that this was the first time that she had a proper Caesar salad in Israel.

For the main dish my wife chose the Salsa Rosa pasta and I had the Pizza Korus. The pizza was delicious, fresh from the restaurant’s new Taboun oven. All the breads are baked in this Taboun, where they come out piping hot, soft, and fresh. One of the breads that we had was sprinkled with Pesto, Bulgarian cheese, and roasted peppers. This is a delicious medley of flavors and colors. In addition to the other dishes my wife and I shared the Red Drum Fish. The fish was well cooked and was so soft and so subtly flavorful that my wife, who is not usually a fan of fish dishes, wasn’t content with just her share and I almost didn’t get a chance to taste it.

Desert at Korus was a real treat. Warm chocolate soufflé served with vanilla ice cream topped with the chef special sweet tehina syrup, honey and nuts. It was positively mouth-watering.

Don’t let the surrounding shell of Center One fool you. Korus Dairy Café is no food court restaurant. The service is great, the presentation very impressive, and the food is delectable.

The restaurant offers a childrens menu which makes eating out with the kids an affordable treat.
