Piccolino

Revisited August 2018
Piccolino Restaurant, and Nava Bibi, the energy behind the restaurant, are Jerusalem icons. Nava and her family are true restaurateurs, hosting customers for many years at some of our favorite restaurants.

Piccolino is the lead restaurant a the Music Center on Yoel Solomon Street. The restaurant has a lovely rustic interior with a main dining area, an open kitchen, party rooms, and a marvelous outdoor seating area in the Music Center courtyard.

Hachnasat Orchim - welcoming guests - is the restaurant's calling card. At Piccolino you will feel more than welcome. Everyone is treated royally, which goes al long way in explaining the popularity of the restaurant and the great number of repeat customers. The combination of fine food, pleasant atmosphere and the welcome feeling, say it all.

About The Piccolino Menu

Piccolino restaurant offers a delicious dairy Italian menu starting from breakfast through dinner. There are wonderful pasta dishes, roasted vegetables, and a variety of Italian and cheese dishes.

While the restaurant menu changes only a few times during the year, in accordance with the seasons, the restaurant offers a menu of specials every day. So you can dine at Piccolino every day and each day enjoy a different dish.

Piccolino chef Moshe Avdiel, who spent years in the kitchens of kosher European hotels, travels around the world and brings fresh ideas to the restaurant. Chef Avdiel's specialty are his fish dishes. One of the more challenging foods, a chefs who can prepare fish well, is to be praised. Some days Chef will offer fish burgers, red tuna steak, seviche, etc. The popular salmon fillet is a staple of the constant menu. Fish is served with vegetables and grains, for a tasty, healthy meal.

The constant menu includes the ever popular Italian style pasta dishes, pizzas, foccacias and pappardelle pasta with Bolognese and tuna sauce.

Our most recent visit to Piccolino. August 2018
We do not visit Piccolino Restaurant often enough. This is our conclusion whenever we are at Piccolino Restaurant. Now, with their daily specials, we can go there every day and enjoy a different dish.

We stopped at Piccolino for an early dinner mid week in the summer. We took seats at a table in the comfortably air conditioned part of the restaurant, but very soon we moved to the outdoor courtyard which was just delightful even in August.

Cocktails! And there we started, with a delicious sweet cocktail.
I guarantee you, that you will have a terrible time deciding what to choose from the menu and from the specials. All the dishes are so enticing, you will be sorry that your eating capacity does not match your desires.

Arancini are delicious fried balls of risotto with cheese inside on a bed of yogurt. Not to be missed. Tortellini are topped with fresh Parmesan cheese, a delight. Fillet of Levrak, the fish of the day, was served open with herbs and a host of fresh baked vegetables. The salmon was perfectly prepared with grilled vegetables flavored with a mustard sauce.

Just as we thought it could not get better, out came a pianist to play for the crowd. Wonderful food, delightful atmosphere, live music, if something is missing we don't know what.

This is a dairy Italian style restaurant, with excellent desserts. For the finale to your meal, choose a delicious dessert from the many options.

Friday Brunch
The Piccolino Friday buffet brunch is one of the calling cards of the restaurant. The table is laden with salads, cheeses, seviche, pizza, desserts and coffee. NIS 80 per person, 90 shekels with the coffee. Children under 8 are 50% off.

In our Jewish tradition of giving back to the community, Piccolino has initiated a soldier program with Beit Levine, the lone soldier center and every week the restaurant hosts brunch for lone soldiers. Ask at the restaurant about how you can participate in this mitzva.

Submitted by Sandi Friedman. Date: October 2014. Description: My comment - in one word, Excellent !!! We had intended on eating at Beit Anna Ticho, however, when I called their phone number, we were told they are closed for renovations. So, we decided to take up the alternate suggestion and eat at Piccolino. We were not disappointed. It was a little hard to find since I'm not from Jerusalem, but after several phone calls, the receptionist sent the waiter to come find us. We were so happy he did and in the end we were almost in front of the restaurant, but just didn't notice the sign.

Everything from start to finish was perfect. The waiter and all the staff were very friendly and very helpful in explaining the menu and assisting us choose our meals. We never had such good service. Everything came quickly, hot, beautifully arranged on the plate and DELICIOUS.

I ordered one of the breakfast meals ; an omelet with chestnuts which just melted in my mouth. It came with delicious house bread, an assortment of cheeses, spreads, salads and orange juice + coffee. My friend ordered the artichokes and was thrilled. The portions were generous and the pricing quite fair. It seemed all the food was prepared with health in mind (not a lot of oil, salt, etc.) The ingredients were fresh and top quality. We were treated to a nice desert "on the house" and even had a chance to meet the owner and compliment her on the wonderful restaurant and delicious food. There are also vegan choices on the menu. The restaurant's dcor is very light, airy and in good taste.

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for a classy place to dine.
