SUKKOT: The restaurant is open throughout Chol Hamoed. Selina's Sukkah is in a quiet passage off to the side, and is not on Emek.Refaim. The Sukka can seat 30 people comfortably. Heaters will be provided in the event of cold weather.
Reservations are strongly recommended.
The restaurant will honor the year round 10% discount on Sukkot.

eLuna Staff Visits Selina:
eLuna revisited this restaurant in October 2009. We were glad to see that the restaurant is maintaining the standard that it established when it opened. Selina is more than a notch above the average. The restaurant is classy yet comfortable. We were impressed with the choices on the menu and even more impressed when the food arrived. The dishes were uniformly tasty and beautifully presented.
Some months ago The Marker magazine recommended the bar at Selina. With that in mind we ordered a cocktail with out dinner. The bar offers a very good selection of mixed drinks and alcoholic beverages. We were very pleased with the delicious cocktail. If you are not driving, we recommend that you enjoy something from the bar with your dinner.
We understand that Selina is developing a following from Gush Dan. More than one person has reported that they made the trip to Jerusalem just to dine at Selina. While we were at the restaurant a group of 15 people came in, lead by a friend who knew the restaurant.
Not inexpensive, we think that Selina provides quality for the Shekel. You indeed get what you pay for.

Emek Refaim is the most "happening" street in Jerusalem and it is loaded
with a huge variety of restaurants. If you were there a mere month ago
you'd probably have bet money that there was no room for even one more
eatery but Selina, the newest addition to this trendy neighborhood,
is about to prove you wrong. When we were there one beautiful Jerusalem
evening, all the seats at the bar were taken and most of the tables
in the restaurant section were filling up, as well. Although Selina
has been around for only a month, its new reputation is already preceding
itself. And justifiably so.
The
atmosphere in Selina is young and hip, though customers of all ages
were enjoying the ambience. The narrow space is divided between a long,
well-stocked bar in the back and about 10 tables in the front. There
was a feeling in the air that this was "the place to be," and it was
exciting and contagious. The restaurant is very well staffed and an
informative and helpful waitress tended to us quickly.
The menu is concise and to the point (in English and Hebrew) - salads/appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. The salad
with strips of meat that we tried was generous for an opener. It was
dressed with an Asian-style sauce that went perfectly with the meat
and greens. We also opted for a dish with an intriguing description
- Sinnia Wrap: tortillas with ground meat, grilled eggplant, and pine
nuts on a bed of techina. We received a beautifully arranged dish with
no fewer than five tortillas wrapped around a savory filling - even
the techina was particularly delicious.
I
tried the grilled chicken breast for main dish and wasn't disappointed.
My companion went with the beef fillet in wine sauce and was treated
to thick rounds of meat prepared exactly as per his request. All main
dishes come with a side of salad, chips, oven-roasted or mashed potatoes,
or rice. There is a fish offering on the menu and there are also "specials"
listed on a blackboard, which the waitress will be happy to tell you
about.
If you remember the Seinfeld episode about "lupper" ("if there's brunch,
why isn't there lupper ?") you'll understand why I call one of the house
specialties an "appessert" (or a "dessappetizer"). This dish - introduced
to the public last night - consists of deep-fried crepes filled with
the richest, most buttery goose livers you can imagine, smothered in
a sweet fruit-nut sauce and accompanied by glasses of appropriate white
wine. Liver for dessert? Yes. Sweet crepes for appetizer? For sure.
This dish is not to be missed, no matter where you fit it into your
meal.
Dinner for two at Selina will run you about 250 shekels, including dessert
(and there are some very intriguing offerings in this department). This
is an upscale restaurant where fresh flowers can be found even in the
Ladies'. Selina manages to be trendy without being pretentious, classy
but not standoffish. Selina is a fun place with an original, fresh approach
to food. There's no question that even in busy, bustling Emek Refaim
there is room for this super new restaurant. Welcome, Selina, to the
neighborhood!
