Kyoto Express is the newest chain of kosher sushi restaurants. This branch, on Avi Zohar Street, is located on the street side of the open shopping center in Beit Hakerem. The restaurant has both tables and booths, ample seating at the bar, and additional seating outdoors.
The restaurant has an open sushi bar where you can watch the sushi being prepared. In addition to a variety of sushi types, the menu offers several cooked Asian dishes. These are healthy low calorie foods that are big on flavor.
Start your meal with some wonderful opening bites like the Japanese pickles, edamame, and spring rolls stuffed with chicken bean noodles and vegetables. There is also a selection of tempura, tofu and salad dishes.
The restaurant serves a nice array of sushi. From regular Maki to Inside-Out Maki, Nigiri and more, the choices are simple and exciting with flavors like salmon and avocado, or the Yam Maki with cucumbers and avocado. They also have sashimi, and many sushi cones like the warm salmon teriyaki, or the spicy tuna.
Looking for something different? Try the beef or chicken Pad Thai. Each comes served with rice noodles tofu, egg, nuts, and green onion in the special sauce. There are also other noodle dishes like the house specialty Noodles Kyoto that comes with your choice of chicken or beef, served with champignon and shitake mushrooms, and served with a sweet sauce.
The restaurant also has a well stocked bar full of wine, and spirits for the perfect cocktail.
