About the Sushi Bar Jerusalem Menu
What did you say you were eating? Whatever it is, they've got it at SBJ. The menu is long but easy to peruse. In every category there are tips: "Recommended" "Spicy" and "Vegetarian." That makes it easy to choose your dishes, eliminating some and focusing on other menu items. Sometimes a menu item will have more than one tip, like Spicy and Recommended. That is certainly a matter of taste.
The menu recommends Tempura Mushrooms as the starter. This is described as champion mushrooms in tempura dressed with Teriyaki sauce. The other recommended dish is the chicken wings on tempura onion rings, chili sauce, honey and ginger. While these sounds delicious, we were attracted to the fish and chips.
In the Salads section I would go for the tofu and mushroom salad. There is also a very enticing looking rice and Noodle section. Grilled meats have a Japanese twist. There is also a childrens menu.
The second page of the menu is all about sushi.
There is a section called Special sushi, combinations, Maki Sashimi Nigri. Special Hot sushi.
The menu recommends two rolls: Sunrise Roll and Lime Roll. nis 38 each.
The Sunrise roll. Salmon tempura, avocado and chives, coated with sweet potato and teriyaki. That sounds good to me.
The more adventuresome will take the second recommendation:
the Lime roll. This sounds like it has every ingredient except the kitchen sink. Recommended is recommended, so here's what you get: salmon tempura lemon cucumber, asparagus with miso yuzo sauce coated with avocado. sweet potato flakes, teriyaki, and spicy mayonnaise.
In the Combos department, the menu recommends
Crunchy Combo: 8 pieces of Salmon avocado and sweet potato.
6 pieces of Maki tempura and shiitake mushrooms. 6 pc Mussy roll. A lot of pieces but the bill is 87 shekels.
