If you thought that you have to get your passport in order to enjoy real American kosher bagels, you must visit one of the branches of Bagel Cafe. A Jerusalem based restaurant chain, there is now a branch in the Moria Center, Modiin, All the Bagel Cafe branches have a similar design and offer the same menu. The restaurants have a great relaxed look and a clean, modern, warm, atmosphere. If you loved it in Jerusalem you will love it in Modiin.
Kashrut: Bagel Cafe is a mehadrin restaurant. There are two separate ovens for dairy and parve. So when they say parve, they mean parve.
Not just Bagels
Bagel Cafe is not just about bagels. Sit down in the comfortable restaurant and enjoy the full dairy menu. There is a variety of breakfasts, toastim: open-faced toasted bagels (your choice) served with a small salad, hot and cold sandwiches with cheese or classic sandwiches with lox or tuna served with a small salad. Then there are hot freshly made pasta dishes and fresh salads. Main courses includ fish dishes like salmon and fish & chips. And of course there are excellent pastries and desserts.
On display you will see an attractive selection of baked goods including mini-quiches, cakes, and out-of-this-world cookies. All the bake goods are so fresh and delicious, you'll think they were baked that minute.
Here's the secret: They were.
The restaurant gets all the baked goods oven-ready but unbaked.
All those lovely bagels and cakes are baked at the restaurant so that they are fresh and delicious. Bagel Cafe has its own blend of coffee, unique and delicious. Don't leave the restaurant without a cup of coffee. A must.

The bagel are classic “American Style” bagels — Plain, Sesame, Poppy-Seed, Salt, Onion, Garlic, Whole-Wheat, Light (healthful), Cinnamon & Raisin. And with your bagels enjoy a variety of cream cheeses, salads, antipasti, fish spreads and smoked salmon. See take out below.
Bagel Cafe Delicatessen.
Bagel Cafe delicatessen includes a selection of dips, fish, salads, cheeses, pickles and unique and fresh spreads. There is also a good selection of cheeses and lox. A few of these with some bagels make a great lunch or a seuda shlishit on Shabbat. All dishes and products are Kosher LeMehadrin.
eLuna stopped in at one of the Bagel Cafe branches and we picked up a dozen bagels, 3 - 4 salads and some pastries for a terrific seuda shlishit.
Take Away and Delivery
On our last visit to Bagel Cafe we had a cuppa and some chocolate chip cookies. We then purchased items to take home. We had delicious real American
bagels with tuna salad, egg salad and forel salad. The chocolate chip cookies are real tollhouse cookies that we know from the old country. You can also buy freshly baked mini-quiches and cakes over the counter.
Bagel Café will deliver your order (in Modiin and the environs). Bagel Cafe is an excellent choice to cater your events in house or at your venue. Make your next business lunch, britot, sheva brachot, or special event at Bagel Café. The restaurant will supply trays for kiddushim.
Join the Bagel Cafe Club (Moadon)
For an annual fee of NIS 25 you can join the Bagel Cafe Club. This entitles you to discounts on your birthday and anniversary, a cake every Friday for NIS 20 and more. Ask at the restaurant.
