French Restaurants
French cuisine is considered one of the world's most refined and elegant styles of cooking, and is renowned for both its classical ("haute cuisine") and provincial styles. It is also characterized by meals which are prepared lovingly and consumed leisurely from appetizers to main courses. Each course is accompanied by a number of wines. Many of the world's greatest chefs are masters of French cuisine. French cooking techniques have been a major influence on virtually all Western cuisines.

Some of the French Olim managed restaurants in France. They have brought their expertise to Israel and have opened excellent French restaurants.

Jerusalem
Kinor Bakikar - Music Center, Jerusalem 02-9944902

The restaurant excels in its specialty entrees and unique skewer dishes. There are also burgers and a childrens menu. This is a high-end dress-for-it dining experience. Combine it with a musical performance in the Music Center and have a great evening.
Ra'anana
Carrousel - 3 Zarchin St, Ra'anana 09-7460586
Don't let the size of this restaurant fool you. Carrousel is a 5-table restaurant in a small store-front on Rambam Street, just off Ahuza.

Owner, manager, & Parisian chef Stephan has managed to turn the small size of this restaurant into an advantage. The restaurant is quaint and personal and you might even say charming.

Not just your basic dairy restaurant, Carrousel specializes in French gourmet dishes. The menu is still in flux, with new dishes being added all the time.

The blackboard lists Stephan's standard exotic dishes like quiches and lasagna. Stephan is still experimenting with the menu, adding new items to the blackboard all the time.

Be sure to try Stephan's luscious home-made rolls. Brown and crusty on the outside and soft in the inside, these cup cake shaped rolls are so good they are a dish on to themselves.
