99 Bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer at Beer Bazaar, Mahane Yehuda market, Jerusalem.
I bet you didn't know that the breweries in Israel - both small and large, produce more than 100 different types of beers. Beer Bazaar beer bar and restaurant carries them all.In addition to the full selection of beer, free tastings, and delicious food, there is live musical entertainment several evenings a week. This is a unique place with an amazing atmosphere for folks who love a good time.
Beers come from
all over the country, from the Golan Heights down to the Negev desert. During the day Beer Bazaar is a cozy, intimate beer garden. At night tables and chairs spill into the market. Live music begins at 9pm on certain nights. Prices range with something for everyone.
There is no place like
Beer Bazaar in Machaneh Yehuda or anywhere in Jerusalem. Not a small stall in the market, Beer Bazaar is one of the largest establishments with seating in the garden and extra space in a covered courtyard. The courtyard is available for parties of up to 80 guests. The atmosphere is young and fun, with an enthusiastic staff. Enjoy live musical performances on Sunday nights, special food offerings, bottomless house beer on Mondays, and special events on Tuesday. You can see all of these on the Beer Bazaar facebook page.
About the Beer Bazaar Menu
In addition to the 99 bottles there are 12 specialty draft beers on tap, including three house brews (Fat Cat, Doda and Bhindi). What's beer if it does not wash down something delicious. Beer Bazaar has an enticing one page menu of meat and vegetarian foods, including nash, sandwiches, and a couple of sweet desserts. Foods are prepared with fresh, local market ingredients, after all, the restaurant is in the market.
Sandwiches include hot pastrami, turkey breast and smoked salmon. The pastrami sandwich that you may remember fondly from the "old country" comes with freshly shredded cabbage slaw, mustard, and a side of pickles and kettle cooked chips. You can double the amount of meat in this sandwich by adding another 50% of the price of the sandwich. Sounds like a delicious New York treat. Speaking of New York, the menu offers a New York Classic Beef Hot Dog served in a bun with beer mustard and sauerkraut. That's New York, alright.
We like the way the foods include beer as an ingredient. Not Your Average Chili is a meat dish slow cooked in stout beer with bittersweet chocolate and hot chili. This is nash food served with nachos and spicy salsa. For dessert you might enjoy apple beer cake served with maple syrup.
From the menu: Fresh cut vegetables NIS 18. Fresh Salad NIS 28 (optional + NIS 9 meat). Chili NIS 36. Sandwiches NIS 36 - 39. Desserts NIS 23 - 25.
When you visit some places, you must take home souvenirs. So it is at Beer Bazaar. You will surely find yourself wanting to bring home some of the beers that you discover. They will happily put together a 6-pack of your favorites to take home.
We recommend that you like Beer Bazaar on facebook. You'll keep track of new products added to the shelves, musical events and their fun specials. When you visit the Beer Bazaar facebook page you will not be able to stay away from the restaurant/bar.
Example of specials: On the last day of November 2016, those with a mustache (or with a friend with a mustache) got 1+1 on all house beers. A mustache drawn on your face counts.
