Who would think it. Yuppie Hod Hasharon – never a focus of religious activity, now boasts kosher restaurants.
Thassos restaurant has now moved from the Sportec center to the spacious restaurant/simcha hall campus on Hanesiim St (opposite the field). This sprawling restaurant/simcha hall property in the middle of Hod Hasharon is still far enough from the tall apartment buildings to have a rural feel.
Just off route 531, Thassos offers a restaurant and a simcha hall. There is a generous parking lot, a spacious grassy area and a childrens playground. Something for everyone.
We visited Thassos kosher meat restaurant early in the evening, mid week. The restaurant filled up by about 8pm. You want to have reservation and you want to be on time.
Housed in a rustic structure, the restaurant offers comfortable seating at tables of different sizes. The menu includes a selection of salads, grilled meats served with salads and side dishes..

Thassos offers the best of the classic steakiya genre, upgraded for modern dining. Portions are generous and there is plenty to eat. Service is good with attentive staff.
Start your meal with a table full of tasty salads. There is a great variety of yummy flavors. The menu also offers a series of starters, including humus and eggplant dishes, soup and chopped liver.
Then move right on to the main courses with your choice of grilled meats. Enjoy skewers of different types such as lamb, mullard, beef, and chicken skewers. Skewers are a great main course at a steakiya, but if you are up for a heavy duty meat offering choose from the main course listing.
Thassos offers a range of main courses, including meat and fish. The Thassos Himus main dish includes chicken steak, olives, onions and grilled tomatoes. Jumbo schnitzel works as a main course along with lamb chops. The Sausage Duet includes two chorizos, 2 spicy merguez sausages, served with sauerkraut. Fish is also a Thassos favorite with salmon and fish & Chips.
Thassos is a family restaurant where you can feel comfortable bringing the kids. A reasonably priced childrens menu will make everyone happy.
Thassos is a good restaurant for just about any dining opportunity. We recommend it for couples, for families, and for private parties. The food is tasty, service good, and the price is right.
