Life is for learning, they say, and I recently learned something quite fascinating: Rotisserie-cooked food - especially the kind you find at Neuman's Rotisserie in Ra'anana - is absolutely delicious! As soon as you walk into this smartly-decorated restaurant in the industrial area, just across the street from Ra'anana's Etgarim Mall, you are greeted by the sight of a magnificent French-made stone oven.
The fire heats the stone and the stone cooks the meat, resulting in a unique and tantalizing taste.
The slow-roasted chicken and brisket are the house specialties, but there are lots of other choices as well: chicken wings, roast beef, schnitzel, and chicken fingers, to name just a few.
The sauces are as marvelous as they are varied: Curry mayo, Jalapeno Lime, Chimichurri, Chipotle BBQ, Balsamic Vinaigrette and others enhance each dish and bring the food to life. Side dishes range from grilled vegetables to Tabouli to crisp, rotisserie-made potatoes, as good as any we've ever sampled.
We ordered red wine with our meal, while our friends enjoyed Carlsberg beer (one of four types of beer available), and we ended our sumptuous feast with warm chocolate souffle and superb apple strudel. The service was excellent and the atmosphere cheery and friendly, an added plus which created a great atmosphere the moment we sat down.
Recently, Neumans has expanded their menu to include such mouthwatering items as Pargit chicken, Entrecote steak, and chicken breast. New salads feature Chicken Caesar and Catalina Roast Beef. The side dishes include crispy Cajun chips, and don't forget, Neumans offers whole chickens for take away with all the fixins.
Restaurant owners Malka and Menachem Neuman, along with Hilton Block have created a singular eatery in central Israel, well worth the trip from wherever you live! Neuman's offers a fine dining experience, and also has an extensive take-out menu for weekday, Shabbat and Chagim, with a wide variety of main courses, kugels, salads and side dishes.
