Cafe Denya, Beit Hakerem

August 2026
We have been enjoying Cafe Denya for close to 20 years. The original restaurant opened in Beit Hakerem, in Denya Square, which became the namesake of the restaurant.

At the center of the square is a boat-shaped sculpture, a reminder of the small fishing boats that secretly carried Danish Jews to safety during the Holocaust. and the heroic efforts saved thousands of Jews. Every new Café Denya that opens is another reminder of this heroic act.

Today the Cafe Denya restaurant chain numbers three restaurants:
* 102 Herzl St, Beit Hakerem
* 35 Kanfei Nesharim, Givat Shaul
* 15 Sarei Yisrael, Court City (off Yaffo)

Cafe Denya restauants are all easily accessed on the Light Rail. All of the restaurants are kasher L'mhadrin.

Start your day with a Cafe Denya breakfast offered from 8am till 1pm. Choose from a light single-course breakfast to a full breakfast for two. Eggs and bread fresh out of the tabun oven are always a go. Our pick for a delicious and creative breakfst dish is either the grill cheese or the eggs benedict. Denya has its own take on grilled cheese, served with a delicious sauce, that you are sure to love. Eggs Benedict are a treat, not usually served in a kosher restaurant..

At 1pm they put the breakfast away and bring on the full dairy menu. This menu is available throughout the day till 10:00pm. I am trying to work out why these restaurants are called "cafe." With their full menu, they are nothing short of full dairy restaurants.

The most delicious breads, pizzas and bakery items area baked in the on-site stone oven. Don't miss Denya's signature focaccia, served warm from the oven with salsa, tahini, and smoked eggplant cream.

I have it on good word that the Tuna Takaki is one of the favorite Denya starter dishes. Fresh, cured slices of tuna are presented on a platter with vegetables. The salads at Denya are legendary. The most popular is the Denya Salad topped with teriyaki-glazed crispy sweet potato strips and feta cheese. The more adventuresome diners will prefer the quinoa- based Barzel Salad with black lentils, and roasted sweet potato.

Pasta dishes are the most popular main courses with Pappardelle Alfredo Funghi with wild mushrooms leading the pack. We love all the different sauces recommended on the pasta. Cafe Denya also offers lovely fish dishes such as salmon fillet and fish & chips.

From eLuna Members:
August 2026: I went to eat with my family of 7 at Cafe Denya on Yafo. It was packed. The waitress was so nice. She did everything with a smile. We had the breakfast for 2, and more. The French toast is out of this world. The eggs Benedict were amazing! The salads were fresh and delicious. They brought us free grapefruit shots they were very good. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a must. There was an over abundance of tasty food. Everything was good! The atmosphere was great. The whole family can't wait until our next visit.

July 2026: Cafe Denya is a family favorite. So much so that when my brother tragically passed away it was clear that the meal after the azkara should be there.
We enjoy all the branches.
Thank you.

August 2026: My husband and I are vegetarians and we LOVE Cafe Denya, especially the branch at 15 Sarei Yisrael. It is very close to the central bus station, making it very accessible, and the ambiance is lovely. There are big windows facing the street and a variety of seating arrangements. The restaurant is clean and modern, the waitresses are polite, and of course the food is delicious!

August 2026: I prefer the [branch] in Bet HaKarem. I have been to all three, but I love the Bet HaKarem neighborhood and I also found the staff at that branch to be the nicest.

August 2026: We are HUGE fans of Cafe Denya in Beit Hakerem. Everything is delicious and the desserts are impossible to omit. It's our favorite dining spot in all of Israel.
