Japan Japan in Petach Tikva is in the right place at the right time. The restaurant is on the upper floor of the Kikar Mall as you come off the escalator. The mall has convenient underground parking and easy access to the restaurant. The restaurant has a small but attractive indoor area with additional seating overlooking the atrium. There is a varied menu, delicious food, excellent service, reasonable prices, a convenient location and plenty of free parking. It is no wonder it is so popular.

The Japan Japan restaurant chain has 16 locations in Israel. Some of the restaurants are take-away fast-food stands and some are full sit-down restaurants. All of the restaurants in the chain are kosher, with different hashgachot. The Petach Tikva branch is a sit-down restaurant with comfortable tables and a full menu, under the hashgacha of Rabbanut Petach Tikva and Batadz.

The Petach Tikva branch of Japan Japan is a busy restaurant. When we visited, all the tables were full and there was a line of people waiting to get in. So it is best to have a reservation. Several people were at the restaurant to pick up foods for take away.

The restaurant is a popular venue for parties. On our visit there was a party with family members of all ages. Everyone seemed to find a choice of foods. What do kids eat at a sushi restaurant? we wondered. They love the shnitzelonim, we were told.

Though there is a full menu of Asian dishes, we decided to make this a sushi visit. The Tango combination was suggested. Substitutions were honored. We asked for cooked salmon instead of raw fish which was graciously accommodated.

The combination gave us a good sense of the versatility of the sushi. The colorful rolls were served on a flat round pallet reminiscent of an artists color pallet. There were inside outs, panko coated sushi and some Nilgiri. The platter was pleasing and aesthetic and we could not wait to dig in.

Above the yummy sushi and the charming interior, we were impressed by the many different people that this restaurant attracts. There were young children, young adults and elderly people, all enjoying their meals. There was a steady stream of people picking up orders for take away including a young mother with her baby in a carriage. In all, it was a bustling and happy restaurant.
