Shimmy's Bar & Grill is a mehadrin kosher restaurant serving grilled meats, indulgent burgers, a great selection of sides and delicious sauces. Shimon Shain, the founder and inspiration of the Shimmy's restaurant chain made aliyah in 2016 from Los Angeles and made his home in the Golan. Shimmy is a hands-on owner, periodically visiting each of the locations. Todd Aarons is the culinary inspiration behind Shimmy's. Todd was the original chef and part owner of Crave Restaurant in Jerusalem. Yosef, the newest addition to the Bar & Grill, is a hands-on owner-manager. He points out the vibe of the restaurant including the fun billiard table and the music that appeals to all ages and clients. The kashrut, that he initiated and maintains is Mehadrin authorized by the Ramat HaGolan Rabbanut, and the meat is all Mehadrin from Rav Mahfud. He plans to expand the menu, adding some of the Shimmy's signature dishes.

Shimmy’s Bar and Grill is one of two Shimmy’s restaurants in the Golan: The Bar & Grill Restaurant and Shimmy's Hamirpeset in Hispin. Both of these are classic burger restaurants, offering wildly popular single, double and even triple-decker burgers, Top of the line is the 220 gr Entrecote buger.

All the beef for the delicious burgers served at these restaurants is from the Golan. The add-ons come from Shimmy's kitchen. Add-ons include pulled assado, red onions, mushrooms, onion comfit, avocado and more.

The menu starts with "small dishes" and includes adamame, chicken wings, fried cauliflower, pulled assado, and more. The menu then gets right down to business: the burgers. But it is not only about meat, Shimmy's also offers salads and several chicken dishes. Enjoy the classic grilled barbecued pargit, chicken schnitzels, and chicken wings. Wings fans can enjoy them either as a starter (small dish) or as a larger main course. A Shimmy's salad also makes a good and filling main dish. Choose one of the salads, either without meat (vegan), with strips of chicken breast or upgrade to strips of grilled chicken. Shimmy's is a family restaurant where your kids will be thrilled with the kids-size burger and the chicken nuggets.

And what goes with all the meat dishes? There are 5 kinds of fries: onion rings, mashed potato balls, potato fries and sweet potato fries. Nothing goes better with grilled meats than draft and bottled beer. But you can also choose from a good selection of wines.

There are lots of ways to put together a meal, both for yourself or for sharing. You could start with "small dishes." then go on to enjoy one of the chicken main dishes or a burger. For those who favor non-meat dishes, like this writer, Shimmy's offers several options. There is the vegetarian burger, breaded crispy cauliflower, edamame, and green garden salad as well as ceasar salad.

To search the restaurant by name, use the mixed Hebrew and English: Summit Hapisga. This is the former name of the restaurant, taken from its lofty Golan location overlooking the Kinneret.
