Taiku has taken on a new hechsher - OU Mehadrin.
They now have a Mashgiach Tmidi and the same great products and dishes with one major exception: All of the meat and poultry is now under the hechsher of either - Rav Rubin, or Rav Landau, Eidah Chareidis, Agudas Yisroel.
Taiku on Emek Refaim in Jerusalem, is a part of the new breed of sushi restaurants. Passionate about the desire to take sushi to its next evolutionary stage, the owners of Taiku have created a menu that gives respect to the traditional modes of sushi. At the same time they try to push the boundary forward by adding some new and interesting creations of their own.
All of the favorites are there, from Maki, to Nigiri & Sashimi. The really innovative creations however are the house specialties. Take the Mediterranean Roll ; Denis with creamy olive tapenade, basil & cucumber, a true fusion of tastes. The Rainbow Roll is also very interesting. Cucumber, spring onion, yellowtail, topped and layered with tuna, white fish, salmon, and nana. For people more interested in a vegetarian option try the Vegetarian Maki; Grilled eggplant, squash/pumpkin, shitake mushrooms, fried onion, and brown rice. Yum!
Outside catering available and events in the restaurant for up to 50 guests.
