Kitchen Brasserie, Modiin
May 2026
The folks from Greg Cafe have upped the level of the restaurants in the chain and re branded them as Kitchen Brasserie. Many of the once Cafe Greg locations are now new and improved Kitchen Brasserie restaurants.
Kitchen Brasserie in Modiin is in the same location as the former Greg Cafe, The decor has been upgraded, and new items have been added to the menu. There is a new management team, and the service and the atmosphere has improved. The only thing you will recognize from the former Greg menu is their outstanding coffee, which is not to be missed.
Another thing that has not changed is the convenient location adjacent to a large free parking lot in the Yishpro center. The entrance to the restaurant is around the front of the building, with a very welcoming covered patio. On a previous visit to this restaurant we enjoyed dining on this patio. On this occasion we sat inside, also clean and pleasant.
The menu, in Hebrew and English, has full descriptions of all the dishes. offers dishes in categories from small to large, depending on the size of your appetite. Small starters like a bowl of olives or Adamame just whet your appetite. On our earlier visit we started with the Adamame, from this menu. The bowl of warm adamame sprinkled with sea salt is a nice munch while waiting for your order.
On this visit we skipped over to the small starters and with the help of manager Avshalom we started with two dishes from the "In between" section.
The "in Between" dishes are more substantial than small starters but small for main courses.
These are generally my favorite menu items, and I believe that two or three dishes from this section would make a great meal. As Kitchen Brasserie presents itself as an Italian dairy restaurant, so the Arancini was a must. After some deliberation we chose both the Arancini and the Roasted Cauliflower.
The photos below were taken at our table.
Arancini are crispy risotto and cheese balls made with mushrooms and truffles. Three balls were served in a rich rosé sauce made with roasted cherry tomatoes, reduced balsamic, green onion, and Parmesan. This is a classic starter on Italian dairy menus and we both enjoyed the Kitchen Brasserie version.
The roasted cauliflower was a dish of roasted cauliflower florets served on a platter of Labneh, tomato salsa, lemony herbs, toasted almonds, with a row of Parmesan cheese lining the outside of the plate.
This too was enjoyed by both me and my companion.
Pizza is one of the most popular menu items, we were told, and is certainly a great choice for families. For our main we again sought Avshalom's advice.
"Which is your favorite dish?" We asked Avshalom. Without hesitation he pointed to the Fish Shwarma. This is a main course in the "Big dish" fish menu. We had never tried this before in any other dairy restaurant, so we took his advice. Indeed this dish is a full platter that includes a pita sandwich filled with pulled fish. On the platter came a generous amount of potato wedges, and a salad of fresh vegetables. All of these can be flavored with black tahini and jalapeño sauce. This dish was a full meal on one platter.
Kitchen offers a fine choice of breakfasts served from 8am till 1pm. There are special diet options like vegan and gluten-free dishes.
I dare you to pass up either a Kitchen smoothy or a kitchen dessert.
On our earlier visit to Kitchen Brasserie we enjoyed a shake that my companion is talking about till this day.
The pride of the Greg chain is their Gourmet coffee a fusion of quality coffee, ground from the highest quality beans. Nothing has changed about the coffee. I enjoyed a cup of Americano and my companion, a cup of cappuccino.
Visit this restaurant with friends for a special occasion - be it a birthday or another happy event. The staff will indulge you and your party, making your visit memorable. The restaurant can accommodate parties of up to 120 guests under umbrellas in the outdoor patio.
